Great News

Things have been "meh" lately, which happens.  Between normal difficulties in the job search, some extra stupidity on the (Iowa) home front, and the normal stresses of the season, well it is bound to happen.

Luckily it has been sunny out almost everyday, which helps a lot.  I don't suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, but I do get a little moody when the weather turns bad for too long.

What I really needed was some good news.

Today I got some.  First I was told that someone I respect casually mentioned yesterday to a friend of mine that they miss hanging out with me.  Living 2K miles away limits my options for visiting, but it is nice to hear that.  The second bit of news is the awesomesauce.  From the National Marrow Donor Program:

“Your marrow recipient has engrafted your cells and recovering very well.  She has been discharged from the hospital.
Additional comments from the Transplant Center: “The patient is doing well coming to the outpatient clinic and she looks great!”

Hot damn!  I thought it would be another year or two before I got any word whatsoever.  To get this really made my day...possibly my week.
