This Needs to be a Commercial Product

Now I'm not a beer snob...really...it's just that I know what I like and what I definitely do not like when it comes to beer. Since I don't drink a lot I am rather protective of the beer I do drink. If you've ever had a fridge half-filled with beer, but only a couple are ones you'd drink, you'd want a way to keep "your" beer safe.

SUATMM

You might not get SUATMM as it is a meme, but I've never been so inclined to use this acronym as I was today.

My love/hate relationship with Kickstarter is no secret. Yesterday it was hate and today it is love.

Today I was introduced to SYNEK. Today is the day I bemoan the fat that a) I'm poor, b) even if I had a ton of money to blow, I couldn't get my own SYNEK fast enough and finally c) I still have to find a way to get my beloved Märzen into a SYNEK bag to begin with.

I know your question is, "What the hell is SYNEK?", or at least it should be. If your first question was, "What the hell is a Märzen?" Well I know we can never be friends as you are now dead to me.

Courtesy of Gizmodo comes the revelation that out of all the movies I've ever seen, nothing will compare to the glory that is, or more precisely, will be, Kung Fury.

I've always been a big fan of B-Movies, but there is a fine line to walk when you making a B-Movie, especially when you know you are making a "bad" movie. I've seen plenty of movies that are awesome because they don't know they are bad and but rarer is the "good" B-Movie that is good because the people making the film knew it was bad. It is all-too rare for a cognizant group of folks to put out a bad movie worth watching.

I think the folks over at Laser Unicorn know what they are doing and are going to do a delightfully terrible job doing it. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself:

Want: GarBade (GameBoy Arcade)

Now I like to play games......that is so not a secret.  I also like to build models...which I generally suck at.  Now I've pulled off some cool "builds" before...ok, at least one, but nothing on this scale.

The GarBade, which is short for GameBoy Arcade, is just übercool.  I want to make one of these someday just so I can have one.  I don't know what game arcade I'd emulate, but I think I'd try to use some more modern graphics to make it look like there was a stand-up arcade version of some of my popular Xbox games.  Now that I think of it, I think it would be cool to up-size this to a small cabinent with a full sized Xbox crammed in there. I think would be pretty cool and not a complete rip-off.

Pat's Backcountry Beverages (with Ginger Ale Recipe)

This idea is quite possibly the best thing since sliced bread, and something I'll have to get my hands on someday: portable carbonated beverages.

"Gee Chris, we already have portable carbonated beverages.  What the hell do you think fits in your koozie, a handful of soda (or beer)?"

Yes, technically the whole concept of the bottle or can is to store and transport beverages.  That is fine for 95%+ of your regular consumption needs, but let's say you are out backpacking.  Do you really want to have to lug around the weight of your cans or bottles plus what is essentially flavored water?  That six-pack may seem like a good idea when you leave the store, but get a few miles into your hike and then we'll see how great that beer or soda will taste.  We'll have to keep it cold and more than likely it won't do well getting sloshed around, but we can still take that for a test drive.

Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition

I cannot lie....I am definitely a gadget geek.  I still have a Kindle Fire, a Toshiba Thrive, and now an iPad.  The iPad gets all the love now because Apple seems to have their act together when it comes to content organization and distribution.

....but this isn't a post about the iPad per se, but of a holy-crap, must-have app coming out.  I was a huge fan of Baldur's Gate when it came out for the PC, but now there is an Enhanced Edition coming out that can be played on Windows, Macs, iPads, and Android devices.

I would be completely willing to shell out $10 to purchase a game I already own if it means I could play it on my iPad.  It will come with new content and if I wish to play with some new characters or use different voice packs and character portraits I can purchase them in-game....or not.

Now all I have to do is manage to make it until September.....

I'm not quite sure how I got there, but I stumbled upon the Tabasco website and then on to their "country store"....

.....where I found out they sell my favorite Chipotle sauce in 1 gallon jars!

Now I realize that a 1 gallon jug of hot sauce might seem inappropriate, especially at almost $40 a pop, but if you like Tabasco, it is actually a great deal.  A standard five ounce jar comes in around $4 or so.  That would make this jug worth over $102 if you bought it five ounces at a time!

I'm definitely putting this on my wish list.
