You Just Know Somebody Has Thought of Doing This....
I know I don't post here much because of other blogs I have going on but, I do like to throw down a funny video or random piece of crap now and then.
I think this video qualifies...

Shave Like a Man
I know lately I've been posting infrequently and pretty much just funny videos. I started a new job in January that had an interesting training schedule and in the last three weeks alone I've had three different shifts.
Things are starting to settle some though, so maybe I'll get back on track.
Maybe....
At lunch today I managed to catch a glimpse of an awesome commercial that struck a chord with me. Was it funny? Yes. Was it split-my-sides funny? Nope, but I still feel like I have to share this gem:

A Million Ways to Die in the West RED BAND Trailer
These days when you see a trailer you can probably guess that all the "good stuff" from the movie is in the trailer, especially if it is a "Red Band" trailer....
...but in my experience you'd be wrong. I have never laughed so damned hard at a movie in the theater as I did with This is the End, and I totally saw (and shared) that movie's Red Band trailer.
I just, as in a minute-or-two-ago saw the Red Band trailer for Seth McFarlane's new movie "A Million Ways to Die in the West". I so want to see that movie. Since, pretty much by definition, Red Band trailers are NSFW, I'll put it after the break.....

An Important Message From the White House......
I know it's been a while since I've posted. Been busy with other projects and some work. It felt like all my posts were complaining about the job search, so I just kind of put this blog on the back-burner.
One thing I have been doing is playing some (probably too much) Call of Duty: Ghosts. I finished the game on the hardest difficulty and have barely played around with the Extinction mode, which means I've been busy with the multiplayer. I'm in a good clan of folks I knew from my HackMaster 4th edition days and guys I've come to know online.
Anyway this video popped up on my Google+ feed and I thought it was hilarious. I hope you find it funny as well. NSFW by the way.....

Am I Getting Too Old for this Shit? Nope!
Courtesy of Gizmodo comes the revelation that out of all the movies I've ever seen, nothing will compare to the glory that is, or more precisely, will be, Kung Fury.
I've always been a big fan of B-Movies, but there is a fine line to walk when you making a B-Movie, especially when you know you are making a "bad" movie. I've seen plenty of movies that are awesome because they don't know they are bad and but rarer is the "good" B-Movie that is good because the people making the film knew it was bad. It is all-too rare for a cognizant group of folks to put out a bad movie worth watching.
I think the folks over at Laser Unicorn know what they are doing and are going to do a delightfully terrible job doing it. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself:
If you want to help out, this is their Kickstarter. I want to see this movie get made.

Funny Homage to a Stupid Meme Song
I fondly remember...way back in the day...that staying up "late" on a Saturday night was measured by if you managed to watch Saturday Night Live. My curfew in High School was before the ending of SNL, so getting to watch the whole show was really being up late.
Of course, like so many things, it seems that the SNL of my youth was better than it is now, but I think that is just as much on me as it is on them.
One thing I've always enjoyed were the SNL shorts. These filmed bits started creeping into the "live" show decades ago. I fondly remember Mr. Bill at a time when kids my age would say, "Mr. Who?" Of course these same kids didn't have a clue who Dr. Who was, but that is a different issue for a different post.
I didn't stay up to watch SNL....I'm getting too old, it isn't "live" in my time zone anyway, and it's unfair to my wife who has to get up early AM to go to work. Luckily for me NBC likes to put the shorts online so I can see some/all of the show later.

Awesome YouTube Commercial
It has been forever since I've laughed so hard at a commercial, which is surprising only because I'm inundated with commercials these days.
Usually I just skip by the commercials on places like YouTube, but this commercial......even at a couple of minutes, made me laugh so hard in such a juvenile way that I had to find it online and share it with all of my male friends. Most of my female friends may actually be interested in this product, but would never enjoy this video to the extent that my 12 year-old self does.
Please.....enjoy with my compliments.

Chicken Fight!
Today is my 11th Wedding Anniversary and I'm not sorry to report I'm pretty much phoning this entry in today....
....mostly because I think this video is freakin awesome and unfortunately I don't have anything worthwhile to add.
Re-enactment of Peter Griffin/Giant Chicken fight from family guy.
Enough said: go here and see for yourself.

What Should We Buy?
For those of you thinking about maybe....possibly....kind of getting a next generation console this year, no doubt you've been pondering the great PS4 vs. XBONE debate.
Hopefully this NSFW Bert & Ernie Mashup will help you decide....
....ok, it won't help with anything, but I found it amusing all the same.

Blog of Tattoo EPIC FAILS
Those of you who know me in real life know that I have some ink. Nothing too major, just three pieces that hold a strong personal significance to me.
I am neither for nor against tattoos, excepting for some stupid ones, because I think tatts are, or at least should be, personal. I also expect people wanting to get ink done to be mature and sober. In case my nephew reads this, I think getting your last name tattooed across the whole of your back (shoulder to shoulder) in an ugly font is a bad idea.
I think getting wasted on a three day pass in a foreign country and then getting your first, second, third and fourth tattoos covering your shoulders and both pecs is also a bad idea. I wish I had taken pictures of the guy I'm thinking about.
Seriously though...bad tatts basically just turn you into a walking billboard of dumbassery. Why let people know at a glance that you are stupid? Let them walk up and talk to you for a while first. Make them earn that knowledge. Of course I do realize that telling dumb people about earning knowledge is oxymoronic...and they wouldn't be reading this anyway.
The whole purpose of this post, aside from a related story I'll have to tell later this week, is to draw attention to this awesome blog called Hanzi Smatter. People send in picture of their Kanji tatts and the blog author translates them. Evidently there are a lot of tattoo parlors that have several kanji "alphabets" where people just get English words and phrases translated on a letter-by-letter basis.
Anyone who has traveled outside of the US to non-English speaking countries pretty much at all should understand why this just doesn't work. First of all, language differences aren't just a difference in alphabet and pronunciation. Proper nouns, idioms, well everything comes from a different train of thought.
I'm not going to get into semantics, but with Kanji whole words or even sentences/concepts in English can be expressed with a single graphic. Besides, unless you can actually understand the language, do you really want to have some foreign writing permanently etched onto your body?
These people did......

Cheerios FTW!
Not too long ago General Mills got blasted for having a Cheerios commercial that featured an interracial couple and a "mixed" child.
Evidently it was a sign of the apocalypse or something, but for some reason the four horsemen didn't get the fricken memo.
Of course it just could be that maybe the Cheerios commercial was innocently portraying an actual segment of their target audience and there are just too many haters in the US. After hearing about (and seeing) some of the bile hurled towards the little girl in the ad, I'm inclined to think this is just made up drama and not the end of days.
I'm not a religious nut-job fanatic or actual religious leader, so please don't take my word for it either way. The best I can do is point out the simpler of the two possible extremes and posit that is the more likely scenario.
I can also point out the "offending" ad in question and a social-commentary follow-up that made me laugh. If there is anything I could use from this event it would be a laugh.

Textastrophe
This falls under both "WTF" and "Awesomesauce" categories because it has me laughing heartily and scratching my head trying to figure out just what kind of moronic genius came up with this idea.
Textastrophe is personalized trolling at its best. This guy/girl/comedic robot finds people's cell number from advertising and then starts a dialogue with them that quickly spirals out of control.
I really don't want to post any spoilers for these dialogues, but you can see them all at the Textastrophe website, just after a short intro from the comedian itself:
"Next time you post your phone number in a public place, think again. This is a collection of text messages I've exchanged with people who have done just that.
textastrophe@gmail.com"
Enjoy...

Spock Vs. Spock
Even though I should be working on a couple of difficult class projects due Friday, I still start off my morning with a quick hop around the interwebs. At first I thought this video was pretty "meh", but ....well, I should let you discover that on your own, spoiler-free.
I cannot find the site where I came across this this morning, but I was able to find it again on YouTube.
Definitely worth a couple minutes of your time:

NSFW Post: The Axis of Awesome Rage of Thrones
Today I finished up a big project and sent it off. I know I put a lot more effort than required, but it was a reasonably fun exercise (the extra portions) and I'm hoping that the effort will be appreciated.
Of course the people I'm working with could just as easily toss it all out....that is their prerogative.
The last couple days of wrap-up have been more of a self-imposed stress, but now that is it over I have an evening to relax before digging in on several school projects. I don't think I have any final exams, just final projects.
Today the Axis of Awesome came up in conversation and I found myself re-watching the 4 Chords video. I went ahead and clicked on their YouTube channel to see if they had anything new...they do....and...it...is....wait for it...LEGENDARY. I got a lot of laughs off of this NSFW video.
Thanks guys, I needed that.

Dude!!! I Want That...
Now I know that I have too much crap as it is, but when I come across this website I am amazed at how much more crap I'd like to have.
The appropriately name DUDE!!! I WANT THAT... website is filled with links to cool products available on Amazon and Etsy, as well as just some general designs.
If nothing else, this site is good for a few laughs, some head shaking, and some "why didn't I think of that?"
I'm trying to finish up some homework and a special project that is use on Monday and the end of the month, respectively. Hopefully I'll have a few things to share (about the projects) next week.

Funny Home Video: Darth Baby's Lightsaber
This video has been making the rounds lately, which is a good thing because it.....is.....awesome.
Amazing what people can do with home video editing and after effects these days. Makes me want to get a nice recorder and go to town...as if I need another project to take up my time.
The only thing I didn't like was the very end.

Zombie Combat Club
I have a personal theory....well, actually more of a premise for a short story regarding the glut of zombie-related offerings as of late, but I'm thinking of saving that for NaNoWriMo (much) later this year.
The thing is I'm not a writer. I can come up with ideas and might be able to get those points across, but not so much in the written form.
Anyway, that will be for much, much later. Today I bring this about for your amusement: Zombie Combat Club. This is one of those things that just needs to be experienced, so by all means, poke around their website. If you just want a highlight I can do no better than to re-post their own explanation from the "About Us" page:
The Zombie Combat Club has a single objective - to educate the public on effective blade, bludgeon, and unarmed combat techniques to eradicate the threat of the living dead. We are not a school, dojo, or military unit. We are an open civilian group dedicated to providing accurate combat theory and education to fight the walking dead without a firearm, and survive.
As the civilian outreach division of IUCS, the Zombie Combat Club is committed to the distribution of accurate, unbiased information to the public on hand-to-hand combat tactics to counter attacks from the living dead.

Gnomeland Security Reminds me of Clockwork Stomp
![]() |
| FairyMeat is a KenzerCo Game |
That was a fun little game where you used real-world terrain to have various cute, and definitely not-so-cute fae duke it out. The game was, for me, a pleasant enough of a one-off, which is odd because I ended up getting quite a few fairy minis and I made a rather elaborate set-up to demo the game at a Dragonflight.
Eventually KenzerCo came out with the Clockwork Stomp expansion which brought gadget & weapon-obsessed Gnomes onto the FairyMeat battlefield. While I never played this expansion, I was well aware of it....
.....and this series of videos from GnomelandHQ remind me of the game.

ASDF
What I do know is that ASDF seems to be the brain-child of Thomas "TomSka" Ridgewell (if that is his real name) and is a series of small clips strung together to form a small YouTube "movie"
Think Monty Python with ADD and an even smaller budget.
The clips are funny and I think ASDF is up to movie #6.
While I know that someone has put all the clips together to form one big movie, that someone isn't TomSka and that isn't cool. Here are all the clips, after the break, in order. TomSka still gets any ad revenue from your watching it here.....so there's that.
